Privacy Policy

MakeMyDay is operated by Floodgates Studio LLC ("we," "us," or "our"). This policy describes how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use MakeMyDay.
What we collect
When you sign up and use MakeMyDay, we collect:
- Phone number — provided by you at signup, used to send and receive SMS messages.
- Google Calendar data — accessed through Google's OAuth system when you connect your calendar. We read your events to answer schedule queries and create or modify events on your behalf. We do not store a copy of your full calendar.
- SMS message content — the text messages you send to MakeMyDay and the responses we send back. We retain message history to provide context for your conversations and improve the service.
- Commitments and reminders — tasks and reminders you create through the service.
- Usage data — basic analytics such as message timestamps and feature usage to help us improve the product.
How we use your information
We use your information to:
- Provide the MakeMyDay service — reading your calendar, creating events, sending reminders, and responding to your messages.
- Improve the service — understanding how people use MakeMyDay so we can make it better.
- Communicate with you — sending service-related messages (never marketing or promotional SMS).
Google Calendar access
MakeMyDay accesses your Google Calendar through Google's OAuth 2.0 authorization. You can revoke this access at any time by texting "disconnect calendar" or by removing MakeMyDay from your Google account permissions. We request only the calendar scopes necessary to read and write events. We do not access your email, contacts, or any other Google services.
Sharing and selling your data
We do not sell, rent, share, or otherwise disclose your mobile phone number, SMS opt-in status, or SMS message content to any third parties or affiliates for marketing, promotional, or advertising purposes. Your phone number and consent information are used solely to provide the MakeMyDay service to you. The only parties with access to mobile information are the service providers listed below under "Third-party services," and only as strictly necessary to operate the SMS service (e.g., the messaging carrier). No mobile information will be shared for any other purpose.
Third-party services
We use the following third-party services to operate MakeMyDay:
- Twilio — to deliver and receive the SMS messages you send to and from MakeMyDay. Twilio acts as our messaging carrier and may process your phone number and message content solely for the purpose of delivering your messages. Twilio does not use your information for marketing.
- Google Calendar API — to read and manage your calendar events.
- AI language model providers — to understand your messages and generate responses. Message content is sent to these providers for processing. We do not use your data to train AI models, and our providers are contractually prohibited from using your data to train their own models.
- Stripe — to process payments for paid tiers (if applicable).
Each of these services has its own privacy policy governing their handling of data. None of them receive your information for their own marketing or advertising purposes.
SMS messaging program
SMS opt-in is optional. It is not a condition of creating a MakeMyDay account. You may sign up for MakeMyDay without opting in to SMS, in which case you simply will not receive text messages from us until you choose to opt in later.
If you do opt in — by checking the SMS opt-in box on our signup form, by replying START to our number, or by another clearly affirmative action — you agree to receive recurring automated SMS messages from MakeMyDay at the phone number you provided. These messages include calendar query replies, schedule updates, event confirmations, and commitment reminders. We do not send marketing or promotional SMS.
Message frequency varies based on your usage, typically 1–10 messages per day. Message and data rates may apply depending on your mobile carrier and plan. You can opt out at any time by replying STOP to any message. Reply HELP for help, or contact us at hello@floodgates.studio. Reply START to resubscribe after opting out.
Data retention
We retain your account data and message history for as long as your account is active. If you unsubscribe (by texting STOP) or request account deletion, we will delete your data within 30 days. Calendar tokens are revoked immediately upon disconnection.
Data security
We use industry-standard security practices to protect your data, including encrypted connections (TLS) for all data in transit and encrypted storage for sensitive credentials like calendar access tokens. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
Your rights
You can at any time:
- Stop receiving messages — text STOP to unsubscribe.
- Disconnect your calendar — text "disconnect calendar" to revoke access.
- Request your data — contact us to receive a copy of the data we hold about you.
- Request deletion — contact us to have your data deleted.
Children's privacy
MakeMyDay is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. If we make significant changes, we will notify you via SMS before the changes take effect.
